U of T World Water Week

Back

March 22, 2010 to March 28, 2010

University of Toronto World Water Week is a new campus-wide initiative presented by the University of Toronto Medical Society in conjunction with the Centre for International Health, Dalla Lana School of Public Health.

The week will include a movie screening, Campus Water Walk, an interprofessional exhibit on water, and a keynote panel.

This World Water Week U of T urges you to appreciate the water in your life… asks you to demand that access to water be a right for all humans… requests that you become aware of the global water crisis…. and most of all, we want you to hope for the day that every human can access clean water and sanitary living conditions.

Purpose:
University of Toronto World Water Week is a new campus-wide initiative that will focus on raising awareness about the global water crisis and encourage students and faculty members to reflect and act on this issue.

Our hope is that during World Water Week, the U of T community will look critically at the crisis and contribute to alleviating this global problem. In the long term, we hope the community will continue to become conscious of this issue. Please help us spread the awareness and create solutions to the world water crisis.

Why Get Involved?
This is your chance to become involved in one of the largest public health issues of our time. This endeavour can save lives, as water is essential to life and many die each year just because they lack access to clean drinking water.

Help out by visiting U of T during our events, helping with the planning of U of T World Water Week, introducing us to speakers and media, contacting donors or sponsors who might be interested in this event, or start your own initiative in your community!
