Canadian Water Network is a federally incorporated nonprofit led by an independent Board of Directors that oversees the financial and operational sustainability of the organization. Our management and staff team in Waterloo, Ontario implement the strategic direction set by the Board and work with volunteers and advisors from government, academic, non-governmental and private sectors to develop a research program that advances priority water issues.

Our unique governance structure closes the gap between water managers and the academic community. In addition to the Board and staff, Canadian Water Network brings leaders in the water management and research communities together to oversee and advise our research programs.

Our Research Management Committee is composed of key researchers and water managers, who ensure scientific excellence of our programs, provide oversight of research activities and practices for the Board and management, and support the maintenance of Canadian Water Network's unbiased position.

Consortium Management Committees provide direct oversight of our consortium research programs, ensuring that research projects and initiatives meet consortium and Canadian Water Network objectives. The committees also provide continuous insight and perspective on priorities of the broader constituency of the consortia.
