Membrane filtration workshop 650 banner crop

This workshop provided opportunities to learn about the design and operation of membrane systems and to discuss recent developments in membrane filtration technologies and their applications for water treatment.

Participants toured the Sanitherm Plant, University of British Columbia's Pilot Plant and the Vancouver Convention Centre’s Waste Water Reuse facility. Featured presentations and site visits were led by researchers from UBC, as well as experts and professionals from leading membrane system manufacturers and suppliers.

We extend thanks to workshop hosts Sepideh Jankah, PhD candidate, Department of Civil Engineering, UBC and Dr. Pierre R. Bérubé, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, UBC.

‘I came into the workshop with little to no knowledge of membranes. When I left, I felt as though I had a broad understanding of the membrane industry and an idea of the type of career I could expect working in the membrane industry.”
