submit abstract by January 27, 2012The Canadian Water and Wastewater Association’s 15th Canadian National Conference and 6th Policy Forum on Drinking Water is a well-established and anticipated event that attracts hundreds of water professionals and researchers from across the country and around the world.

What is this event?

This biennial conference is sponsored by the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water (CDW), which establishes the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality. The conference will provide a unique opportunity for all drinking water stakeholders to meet, present and exchange views on current and emerging issues related to the provision of safe drinking water. CWWA is pleased to support the CDW by undertaking the organizational and logistical arrangements for this event.

Submit an abstract

The conference’s program technical committee is soliciting abstracts. As a presenter, you will have an opportunity to showcase your research, discuss your ideas and influence how risk is assessed and managed by Canada’s drinking water professionals.

How to participate

If you would like to be part of the conference as a presenter, you must submit an abstract.

Abstracts must be received by January 27, 2012.

Abstracts should be about 500 words long and saved as an MS Word document without images or other attachments. Please provide your name, mailing address, e-mail address, phone and fax numbers.

Review and selection

The program technical committee will review abstracts for quality and originality. These will be considered as an indication of the quality expected in the presentation and final manuscript or executive summary.

CWWA will notify you by e-mail of the final status of your submission by March 23, 2012.

Manuscripts or executive summaries in English or French will be included in the conference proceedings, and must be received by June 29, 2012.

Presentation types

Oral presenters
Speakers will have 30 minutes to present their research and respond to questions.

Poster presentations
Posters will be on display for the entire conference. A special poster session will give delegates a focused opportunity to browse the displays and direct questions and comments to presenters. If you would prefer to present a poster, please note this when you submit your abstract.

A cash prize will be awarded to the best poster prepared by a student.

Conditions
All presenters are required to register as paying delegates and are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.

Discounted registration fees will be available for presenters. Presenters are invited to submit a manuscript summarizing their research or presentation for inclusion in the forthcoming conference proceedings. CWWA will request manuscripts by June 29, 2012 for publication and distribution at the conference. Manuscripts enhance the exposure for your research and offer a great publication opportunity, but are not mandatory. All oral and poster presenters will be sent manuscript instructions as soon as the review process is complete.
