The National Research Agenda for Municipal Wastewater and Biosolids was initiated by the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME), and prepared by a Core Group representing Environment Canada, CCME, the Canadian Water Network and the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association.

Formed in January 2011, the Core Group completed a first draft of the Agenda in November 2011. Prior drafts of the Agenda have been reviewed externally and revised into the current version, which is now available for comment.

CWN will use the Agenda to launch priority research projects in association with its Canadian Municipal Water Consortium. This process will begin with a workshop, held on March 29, 2012, at which priority topics will be drawn from the Agenda to match end-user needs. Participants at the workshop will contribute to identifying these needs and will be provided the opportunity to consider offering partnership support to help conduct the ensuing research initiatives.

CWN invites you to download and review the revised Agenda and supporting materials and to complete a questionnaire to provide your assessment of it.

Your contributions are essential to make final revisions to the Agenda before its public release and subsequent initiation of research activities arising from it.

For those who have assessed it previously, we encourage you to review the Agenda once more as it has been revised since your initial assessment.

c) Download the questionnaire (MS Word document), print and complete it, then scan the document and e-mail it as an attachment to Katrina Hitchman.

IMPORTANT: You may experience difficulties downloading the survey if you use Microsoft Internet Explorer as your web browser. If you have problems, we suggest you download the file using Firefox.

If you do not have Firefox installed, you may download a free copy from Mozilla. You are also welcome to contact Katrina Hitchman, who will forward the file by e-mail.

NOTE: Mailed questionnaires will not be accepted.

Programme national de recherche sur les eaux usées et les biosolides municipaux

Le Conseil canadien des ministres de l’Environnement (CCME) a présidé à la création du Programme national de recherche sur les eaux usées et les biosolides municipaux. Le CCME a confié la tâche d’élaborer le programme à un groupe de travail formé de représentants d’Environnement Canada, du CCME, du Réseau canadien de l’eau et de l’Association canadienne des eaux potables et usées.

Constitué en janvier 2011, le groupe de travail a terminé l’élaboration de la première version provisoire du programme en novembre 2011 et l’a soumise, ainsi que des versions subséquentes, à un examen externe. Le groupe de travail a modifié le projet de programme en fonction des commentaires reçus et le RCE sollicite maintenant votre apport.

Le RCE s’appuiera sur le programme pour mettre sur pied des projets de recherche prioritaires en collaboration avec le Consortium de recherche sur les eaux urbaines au Canada. Il tiendra, le 29 mars 2012, un atelier dans le but d’établir les priorités recherche aux termes du programme qui répondent aux besoins des utilisateurs. Les participants à l’atelier contribueront à cerner ces besoins et auront l’occasion d’offrir leur concours à la réalisation, en partenariat, des travaux de recherche subséquents.

Le RCE vous invite à télécharger la version à jour du programme et les documents d’appoint, ainsi qu’à remplir un questionnaire d’évaluation.

Votre apport est essentiel et permettra de parfaire le programme avant de le rendre public et d’entreprendre les activités de recherche.

Nous vous demandons de bien vouloir examiner la présente version du programme, même si vous en avez examiné une version antérieure. Plusieurs modifications y ont été apportées.

c) Télécharger le questionnaire sous forme de document Word, l’imprimer et le remplir, puis le numériser et l’envoyer par courriel en tant que document joint à Katrina Hitchman.
